This Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, returns, and refunds for decor rental services provided by Handgiftsax. Please read this policy carefully before making a rental reservation.
By booking our rental services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us before completing your reservation.
Rental Period and Returns
All rental items must be returned in the same condition as received, normal wear and tear excepted. Our team will conduct a thorough inspection upon return to assess the condition of all items.
- Rental periods are specified in your rental agreement and typically include delivery, event day, and pickup.
- Items must be returned at the agreed-upon date and time. Late returns may incur additional fees.
- All items must be cleaned and free of debris, food, or other substances before pickup.
- Items damaged beyond normal wear and tear will be subject to repair or replacement charges.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both parties:
- 30+ Days Before Event: Full refund minus a 10% processing fee, or full credit toward a future rental within 12 months.
- 14-29 Days Before Event: 50% refund or 75% credit toward a future rental within 12 months.
- 7-13 Days Before Event: 25% refund or 50% credit toward a future rental within 12 months.
- Less Than 7 Days Before Event: No refund, but 25% credit may be available toward a future rental at our discretion.
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email or through our contact form. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 10-14 business days.
Consultation Cancellations
For consultation services:
- Discovery Calls (Free): May be rescheduled or cancelled at any time with at least 24 hours notice.
- Design Sessions ($150): Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours in advance. 50% refund for cancellations 24-48 hours in advance. No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours before the scheduled session.
- Full-Service Planning ($450): Full refund if cancelled 7+ days before the event. 50% refund for cancellations 3-6 days before. No refund for cancellations less than 3 days before the event.
Damage and Loss Policy
Renters are responsible for the care and condition of all rental items during the rental period:
- Normal Wear and Tear: Minor scuffs, scratches, or wear consistent with normal use are expected and will not result in charges.
- Damage Assessment: Our team will inspect items upon return. Damage will be assessed based on repair costs or replacement value.
- Repair Charges: If items can be repaired, you will be charged the actual cost of repairs plus a 20% administrative fee.
- Replacement Charges: If items are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you will be charged the replacement value of the item.
- Missing Items: Lost or missing items will be charged at their full replacement value.
All damage charges will be processed using the payment method on file. We will provide an itemized invoice detailing all charges.
Weather and Force Majeure
In the event of severe weather, natural disasters, or other circumstances beyond our control that prevent delivery or require early pickup:
- We will work with you to reschedule your rental when possible.
- If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund or credit will be provided.
- We are not responsible for weather-related event cancellations, but we will work to accommodate reasonable requests.
Item Availability and Substitutions
While we strive to maintain inventory, occasionally items may become unavailable due to damage, loss, or prior bookings:
- We reserve the right to substitute items with similar quality and style alternatives.
- You will be notified of any substitutions before delivery.
- If substitutions are not acceptable, you may cancel your reservation and receive a full refund.
- If an item becomes unavailable after delivery, we will provide a prorated refund for that item.
Refund Processing
Refunds will be processed as follows:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the transaction.
- Processing time is typically 10-14 business days, though it may vary depending on your financial institution.
- For credit card payments, refunds will appear as a credit on your statement.
- For bank transfers, refunds will be returned to the originating account.
Disputes and Resolution
If you disagree with any charges or assessments:
- Contact us within 7 days of receiving the invoice to discuss your concerns.
- We will review photos, documentation, and your account to reach a fair resolution.
- We may request additional information or documentation to support your claim.
- Our goal is to resolve disputes fairly and amicably.
Special Circumstances
We understand that every situation is unique. In cases of medical emergencies, family emergencies, or other extenuating circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review each case individually and may offer accommodations beyond our standard policy.
